ACCESSIBILTY STATEMNT

The Mint House - Entrance and Stairs

The Mint House is a very old building and may not be suitably accessible for everybody. Our narrow entrances make The Mint House not suitable for wheelchairs or wheeled mobility aides. The uneven stairs and steps may may be challenging for some people. most steps have hand rails.

Car park and Transport

Bus Routes 8 & 197 arrive on Pevensey High street hourly during the day from Eastbourne, where you will find the Mint House on the castle end of the street, opposite the Royal Oak and Castle pub.


The Mint House is a short ~20 minute walk from the train station at Pevensey and Westham, follow street signs and road signs towards the castle. Walk through the castle grounds and you will arrive at the pub opposite the Mint House.



Opposite the Mint House is a car park at The Old Cattle Market with spaces for coaches available.


The entrance to The Mint House sits behind a road corner with no crossing aides or traffic calming measures, so be careful when crossing to enter the house.


Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi is not supplied at the mint house currently.

Dogs

Dogs are allowed in The Mint House. Keep dogs under close watch to ensure they do not damage the house or pick up anything harmful to themselves.

Light and Visibility

We currently are only open for specific events which are generally held during the day. The Mint House has electric lights fitted, however there are some darker areas which are lit with lamps and lanterns.

Toilets

Toilets are situated across the road from The Mint House and belong to the local council and are for public use.

Seating

Seating is available in the oak room, situated on the ground floor.
